China’s Industrial Feed Output Rose in the First Two Months of 2026

On March 29, 2026, the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the China Feed Industry Association released an update on national feed production for January to February 2026. According to the release, China’s industrial feed output reached 51.85 million metric tons during the first two months of the year, up 3.4% year on year.

Among the main categories, compound feed output increased 4.0% year on year, and additive premix feed rose 3.8%, while concentrated feed declined 10.6%. The report also noted that corn accounted for 46.9% of feed formulas produced by feed enterprises, up 1.0 percentage point from December, while soybean meal accounted for 13.0%, down 0.7 percentage point from December.

These figures suggest that China’s feed sector entered 2026 with relatively stable production momentum, while formula adjustment and raw material optimization remained important themes for the industry.
