On April 15, 2026, Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced that the country had concluded negotiations enabling new agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Jordan and Ethiopia. According to the ministry, Saudi Arabia approved nine Brazilian fruit products, El Salvador approved apples, Azerbaijan approved grapes, Jordan approved hay, and Ethiopia approved forage seeds of Brachiaria spp., Panicum spp. and Setaria spp.
The ministry also said these new approvals brought Brazil’s total market openings since the start of 2023 to 591. It added that Saudi Arabia imported more than US$2.8 billion in Brazilian agricultural products in 2025, while exports to El Salvador and Azerbaijan totaled US$103 million and US$24 million respectively, and Jordan imported more than US$499 million in Brazilian agricultural products last year.
For exporters in feed, forage, and broader agri-trade, the announcement shows that market-access expansion remains an important driver of overseas growth and product diversification.
